Green takes joyride into Cannon Co. jail

Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Dec. 12. The results of some of the cases on the docket included:

• Joseph Tyler Green agreed to revocation for violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 35 months, 27 days in the county jail. Green also pleaded guilty to joyriding. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days. He also pleaded guilty to theft under $1,000 and received a sentence of 11 months, 29 days. He was ordered to serve both sentences in their entirely, but they will run concurrent with each other as well as the sentence for violation of probation.
Green had been charged on Nov. 28 with joyriding in a 2005 Ford Escape and driving with license suspended by Woodbury Police Chief Lowell Womack. On Nov. 30 he was charged with taking a 1998 Ford 150 on Nov. 27 without the permission of the lawful owner.

• Marcus Justin Jones agreed to revocation for violation of probation. He was placed back on probation for 23 months, 28 days. Jones also entered no contest pleas but was found guilty of theft of property and of violation of an order of protection and received a suspended sentences of 11 months, 29 days and equal amount of time on probation on each charge. He also has to pay the court costs in both cases, stay away from the property where the offense occurred and have no contact with the victim. Jones was also found guilty of driving while license suspended. Sentencing was set for March 20.

• Travis Leigh Laxton pleaded guilty to simple possession of marijuana. He was granted judicial diversion and placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. He was fined $250 and ordered to pay the court costs. He also must forfeit any property seized during the investigation.

• Rhonda Louise Mosley pleaded guilty to possession of a Schedule VI drug (marijuana). She received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, an equal amount of time on probation, a $1,000 fine and was ordered to pay the court costs.

• Teresa Ann Dawson pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment. She received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was ordered to serve five days in jail. She was placed on probation for 11 months, 24 days, fined $525 and ordered to pay the court costs.

• Connie Ann Barnes failed a drug screen. Her bond was revoked and she was remanded to the custody of the Cannon County Jail. She twice tested positive for methamphetamine. Her violation of probation case was reset for Dec. 19.

• Brandon Black entered into an agreed order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days on a charge of domestic assault. He was ordered to pay the court costs.

• Jimmy Wayne Chapman agreed to revocation for violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail. Upon release he will be back on probation for 10 months, 15 days.

• Christopher B. Davis pleaded guilty to theft of merchandise. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and an equal amount of time on probation. He was also ordered to stay away from the premises where the offense occurred and to pay the court costs.

• Dale L. Deason had a charge of drivers licenses to be carried and exhibited dismissed upon payment of the court costs.

• Cynthia D. Gray agreed to revocation for violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 75 days in jail. Upon release she will be back on probation for 6 months, 14 days. She agreed to serve her entire sentence for any future violation.

• Paul Jerome Grizzle agreed to revocation for violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days in the county jail and his probation was extended for 10 months, 29 days upon release.

• Jacob Lee Hickman had a charge of driving while license suspended dismissed upon payment of costs.

• Michael D. Howell, Jr. agreed to revocation for violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and upon release he will be back on probation for 21 months, 29 days.

• Elizabeth Huffman pleaded guilty to DUI first offense. She received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was order to serve 30 days in jail. She was also placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, fined $500 and ordered to pay the court costs.

• Erica Fae Ramey pleaded guilty to driving while license suspended. Sentencing was set for March 20.

• David Alan Ridenhour agreed to revocation for violation of probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and his probation was extended for 7 months, 22 days.

• Barbara S. Runions pleaded guilty to violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 60 days in jail and will be back on probation for 8 months, 28 days upon release. She also agreed to serve her entire sentence for any future violations.

• Candy Ayala pleaded guilty to assault. She was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and an equal amount of time on probation. She was also ordered to pay the court costs and to have no contact with the victim.

• Andre Flanigan pleaded guilty to domestic assault. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 20 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He also pleaded guilty to assault and was also given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and equal time on probation. He will pay the court costs in both cases. The sentences will run concurrent. As a result of the domestic violence conviction, Flanigan can no longer own or possess a firearm.
