Grand Jury Gets Six Cases

Six defendants had the charges against them sent to the grand jury during Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday (Sept. 6).

Co-defendants Christopher Anthony Adams and David Andrew Nettles had bound over charges of aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000.

Each announced they would plead guilty under judicial diversion to the burglary charge during an information hearing in Cannon County Circuit Court in exchange for 3 years on state probation. Under that agreement, they will pay restitution to the victim and the theft charge will be dismissed.

Brady Gordon Cunningham had a charge of DUI 1st offense bound over.

Robert Michael Mason was in court for separate preliminary hearings on charges of DUI and violation of the implied consent law resulting from a June 13 arrest and for a criminal trespass charge incurred on June 15. Following the hearings, Judge Melton found there to be probable cause to bind both cases over.

Charlie James King had bound over charges of manufacture of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges of driving on a revoked license and violation of the financial responsibility and registration laws were reset for Oct. 4.

Jeffrey Michael Hodges had charges of aggravated burglary and theft under $500 bound over.

The grand jury to scheduled to meet Sept. 16, although some of these cases may be presented during the January session.
