Cannon County Lionettes finished as AAU 16u DIV II State Runners Up this past weekend in Shelbyville.

The Lionettes, consisting of only local players ranging in ages of 13u-16u, competed against other 16u teams made up from a variety of high schools.

They went 3-1 in the tournament, beating Flight, Dyersburg Storm, and TN Dream Phoenix.

With this finish, the girls are qualified for the National AAU tournament at Walt Disney World in July 10-15th.

The players are excited about the successful high school year they had this past season and are working to improve for next year's season.

They are planning to attend the National tournament and will represent Cannon County well.

If any individuals or businesses would like to support the players for this trip, please contact Gaylon Sissom at 765-7232 or 542-8835.
