Gladys Faye (Melton) Cates, 79, passed away on Saturday, June 19th, 2010. She was a patient at Vanco Manor Nursing Center in Goodlettesville and had resided in Greenbrier and Woodbury.
She was preceded in death by parents Annie Louise and John Wiley Melton of Woodbury; husband Edward H. Cates, Sr.; sons Edward H Cates, Jr. of Woodbury and Roger Dale Turner of Huntsville; brothers John Wiley Melton, Jr. Charles (Tet) Melton, James (Bub) Melton and Roy Randel Melton.
She is survived by a brother Sam Melton of Murfreesboro; daughters Debbie (Ray) Rooker of Murfreesboro, Peggy Smith of Greenbrier, Kim (Ralph) White of Mississippi and one son Roger (Nancy ) Turner of Greenbrier.
She is also survived by grandchildren Brandi (Rooker) Goin; Angie Smith; Richard White; April, Mandy & Julie White; and all of her beloved great-grand children, sister in laws, nieces and nephews she loved so very much; as well as her best friend and dog, Pepie.
The Family would also like extend deepest appreciation to the entire Administrative staff, Nurses, Physicians, Technicians, Housekeeping and full facility staff for always loving and giving our Mom care for the last few years; and for the Extreme loving Attention, Care & Comfort the last 3 days she was with you and us. You were her Angels.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 2-4 PM at Smith Funeral Home with a memorial service immediately following in the Smith Funeral Home chapel.
