Help the communities of Cannon County get an early start on its annual Fourth of July Celebration tonight (July 3) at 6 in Woodbury’s Dillon Park.

Cannon County, the town of Woodbury and the city of Auburntown are presenting the free public event that features fun, food and friendship.

The second annual celebration starts with a flag ceremony and live music. Family-oriented games will also be available along with free hot dogs, soda, chips, water and watermelon.

While admission is free, the public is being asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Cannon County Emergency Food Bank. The Food Bank particularly needs donations of flour, sugar, cooking oil, powered milk, instant potatoes, peaches, pinto beans, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, canned meat items and peanut butter.

Fireworks will begin after it gets dark around 9 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs.

In Mooretown, the Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its inaurgural Fireworks Show on July 4. The free show starts at 6 p.m. at 473 Hollow Springs Road. Fireworks will begin after dark.

Murfreesboro will host its annual Celebration Under the Stars on July 4 at McKnight Park (SportsCom) at 120 DeJarnette Lane. Family events begin at 5 p.m. followed by a stage event at 7:50 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

In Nashville, you can experince one of the nation’s largest Fourth of July events.

Kicking off with the Family Fun Zone at noon until 5, the day features a number of live performances at Riverfront Park with Main Stage activities beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Keb’Mo’ performs at 7:30 p.m. followed by The Band Perry at 8:45 p.m. A performance by the Nashville Symphony and fireworks starts at 9:50 p.m.
