George Washington Manus Sr.

Services for George Washington Manus Sr., 74, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens. Visitation is 4 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 13.

Mr. Manus died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Vanderbilt Hospital.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Peggy Parker Manus of Woodbury; a son, George W. Manus Jr. of Woodbury; a sister, Betty Wagoner of Muncie, IN, a brother, Thomas J. Manus of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Thursa Davis Manus; sisters, Lorene Myers, Alberta Underwood, Grace Davenport and Dessie Brown Manus; and brothers, Ed Manus and Floyd "Bootsie" Manus.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired self-employed painting company owner.
