Geneva S. Brandon
Friday, March 1, 2013 8:58 am Geneva Simpson Brandon, 84, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Stones River Hospital. A Cannon County native, Mrs. Brandon is survived by her children, Carolyn (Henry) Alford, Ellis (Teresa) Brandon, Lynn (Mitzi) Brandon and Charley (Paula) Brandon all of Woodbury and Gail (Ray) Spry of Manchester; her sister in law, Elizabeth Simpson of Woodbury; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her parents, Hilary and Eunice Jones Simspon; her husband, Charles Seymour Brandon; a son, Melvin Brent Brandon; sibilings, Alvie, Sterling and Robert Simpson; sisters, Opal Sanders, Ellen Brandon and Dorothy Collins. Geneva loved to cook and have her family over for dinner. She also enjoyed quilting and made all of the grandchildren baby quilts. She was a member of the Baptist church and a housewife. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Stinnett and Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Burial will follow in Cateson Cemetery. Visitation is planned for 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cateston Cemetery and the American Lung Association.
