Fred Cranford Rogers, age 84, of Readyville died May 16, 2016. He was a native of Murfreesboro and was the son of the late Fred C. and Waldene Cranford Rogers.

Graveside services will be at 2:00pm Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Wilma Hawkins will officiate. Visitation will follow the graveside services at the cemetery.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife Katherine Smith Rogers; sons, Thomas Rogers (Jan) of Estill Springs, Ronald Rogers (Raquel) of Readyville; daughter, Renee Rogers (Daniel Davenport) of Readyville; sister, Carolyn Rogers Wilson of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Jennie and Alvin Brandon, Katie Rogers, Whitney and Eddie Davenport, Matt and Ashley Rogers, Jon and Amber Rogers; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Rogers was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He was a graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and received his B.S. and Master's degrees from MTSU. Mr. Rogers served in the United States Air Force. He taught school in Rutherford County for 38 years and was employed by the USDA for 48 years prior to his retirement.

Pall bearers will be Matthew Rogers, Quentin Groves, Mitch, Bill, and David Wilson, AB Brandon, Kenneth Phillips, and Eddie Davenport.

Memorials may be made to the 4-H Clubs of Rutherford County, 315 John R Rice Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 in memory of Mr. Rogers.
