Four finalists for county finance director position

It's down to the final four candidates when it comes to the future Finance Director of Cannon County. Five applicants applied for the position, but one was eliminated due to lack of experience in governmental operations.

The four scheduled to be interviewed include:

• Diane Hickman -- whose official title is the Cannon County Accounting and Budget Director.

• Neal Appelbaum -- former Executive Director of the Arts Center Of Cannon County

• James Starnes -- former Deputy Director, Director of Management Information Systems of the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency.

• Linda Periut -- currently the Director of Finance and Administration for the Tennessee Duck River Development Agency.

The next step for the Cannon County Finance Committee will be to conduct interviews with each of the candidates. Those will start Monday, June 10 at 5 p.m. at the recessed meeting at the courthouse.
