Florence O. Adams, 69, of Murfreesboro died June 3, 2010. She was born April 2, 1941 in Woodbury, TN at the Good Samaritian Hospital. She was delivered by her grandfather, Dr. J. F. Adams, who also built the hospital. Her parents were the late Fred Olin Adams and Jean Adams Blankenship.
She is survived by her sister, Georgena Wade of Gallatin; nephews, Bill & Connie Wade of Gallatin, Bob & Tara Wade of Hendersonville & Mark Wade of Nashville; niece, Amy & Adam Harrison of Castalian Springs; great nephews and nieces, Ashley Freeman of Gallatin, Timmy Freeman of Chicago, IL, Aaron Downs of Castalian Springs, Seaira Ford of Cookeville, Zachary Harrison of Castalian Springs, Megan Wade of Gallatin, Hunter Harrison of Castalian Springs, Grace Ann Wade of Hendersonville, Thomas Harrison of Castalian Springs and Maggie Wade of Hendersonville.
Miss Adams grew up in Woodbury and graduated Woodbury Central High School in 1959. She also graduated from MTSU in 1965. She attended the North Boulevard Church of Christ. She enjoyed basketball, wood carving and painting.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3 PM in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Thyatira Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Adams Memorial Library.
