Florence Jessen

Florence Clara Jessen, 88, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at her home after an extended illness.

A native of Bristol, Connecticut, she resided in Liberty. A member of the Sycamore Baptist Church, she was a retired machine operator and a member of the Alexandria Senior Center. Parents were the late Joseph and Regina Lecko Pomianowski. Also preceding her in death was her husband, George Jessen and a daughter, Christine Zinchuck.

Survivors include five sons, James and Jerry Skylenka of Terryville, CT; Thomas Skylenka of Gassaway, TN; Ted Skylenda of Sparta, TN and Steve Skylenda of Bantam, CT; a brother, Alfred Pomianowski of Bristol, CT; sister, Pauline Powers of Bozeman, MT; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Woodbury Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in West Cemetery in Bristol, CT.
