Email Print

The fire which started Thursday night in Fine Swine Bar-B-Que on the Woodbury Town Square flared up again shortly before 9 a.m. today.

Joe's Place restaurant was evacuated before firefighters arrived back on the scene.

Flames shot out of the front of Fine Swine, uo through the roof, and briefly burned the old Woodbury city hall building next door.

Woodbury Fire Chief Bill Johnston was the first on the scene and sprayed the interior of the building with water until additional units arrived.

Firefighting manpower was called in from Mooretown and Gassaway, plus ladder trucks from Manchester and Walter Hill.

The fire was still not fully under control as of 11 a.m. The fire started around 7:30 p.m. Thurday, was apparently extinguished at 1:05 a.m. this morning, and reignited the first time around 5 a.m.

God Bless the owners of these businesses and the firefighters working so hard to save what they can for them. Praying hard for all involved.

Driving past the scene I noticed that the building is completely gone now....

I say... Wow.

The People fighting the fire did a good job containing the damage. It's very neatly done.
