Fire Engulfs McMinnville Hwy. Home

Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Steve McMillen responded to 6695 McMinnville Hwy. on Dec. 16 following a report of a house fire.

Upon arrival, Deputy McMillen found the home of James Murphy to be fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from the Short Mountain Volunteer Fire Department responded to put out the fire, according to the report.

Deputy McMillen was advised by Murphy's daughter that he had a wood stove in the living room, where the fire might have started.
