FBC Woodbury To Host Blended Family Workshop

The First Baptist Church of Woodbury will host a blended family workshop this month.

The workshop, led by Dr. Patsy Highland, PhD, is free and open to the community, and will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Jan. 12, 19, 26 and Feb. 2 in the fellowship hall of the church, located at 413 West Main Street.

Highland is the director of counseling and lead therapist at Masters Resources Counseling of Murfreesboro. The workshop will focus on managing the challenges of blended families/step-families and will also provide parenting tips and tools.

I appreciate FBC offering this program in our community due to so many of our families coping with restructuring. When remarriage occurs children have no choice in the changes in their family. I hope this addresses the concerns of children in stepfamilies.
