Ernestine George Tate

Ernestine George Tate, age 97, of Woodbury passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at Woodbury Health & Rehabilitation. She was a native of Cannon Co.

Survivors include her children, Gerald (Peggy) Tate of Woodbury, Ann Bryson of Auburntown, Rita (Ernest) Davis of Auburntown, & Jeff (Jan) Tate of Murfreesboro; Brothers, Grady George, Sr. of Woodbury & Frelan George of Manchester; and 12 Great Grandchildren, Bob Bryson, Ricky (Joan) Bryson, Sherry (Tony) Young, Russell (Robin) Tate, Mark (Shela) Tate, Kim (John) Francis, Angie (John) Whited, Megan Davis, Chris Tate, Jessica Tate, Brian Manning, & Kimberly Thomas. 19 Great Grandchildren & 13 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sammie George & Jennie P. Tate George; Husband, Palmer E. Tate; Granddaughter, Barbara Ann Bryson; Son-in-law, Jackie Bryson; Siblings, Howard George, Sarrah Elizabeth "Betty" Ledna, Inez Watling, Nina Dodds, & Medford George.

Ms. Tate was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church and was a housewife.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Sunday, December 18, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Dukes officiating. Interment will follow at Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 8 PM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the funeral home.
