Elsie Faye Smith Walden, 85, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at her home following an extended illness. A native of Malcolm, AL., she lived most of her life in Woodbury.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Michael) Zerio of Woodbury; grandchildren, Deia (Dwayne) Sissom and Stephanie (Michael) Reagan all of Bradyville, Tony (Elizabeth) Zerio of MA.; great grandchildren, Amanda (Jonathan) Francis of Auburntown, Aaron (Amber) Sissom of Bradyville, Jessica (Dakotha) Mills of Woodbury, Emily Hartman of Bradyville, Andy Howard of Centertown and Jonathan and Emily Zerio of MA.; great great grandchildren, Cole and Baylee Sissom of Bradyville and Allison and Waylon Francis of Auburntown; brother, David (Jean) Nichols of TX.; Sisters-in-law, Dottie (Jim) Jones of Woodbury and Josie Smith of Nashville and brother-in-law, Dee (Betty) Smith of Murfreesboro. Also surviving are step children, step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Nellie Clark Nichols; Stepfather, Al Hartman; her husbands, Wesley Smith and James Walden; Children, Steven Wesley Smith and Susan Deloras Smith and siblings, Raymond Nichols, Joseph Nichols, Ola Sibley, Mary Nichols, Lydia Jones, Inez Naquin and Louise Naqin.

Ms. Walden was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and worked in the food service industry most of her life. She retired as CCHS cafeteria manager after 19 years. Elsie loved gardening, crocheting and reading but most of all she loved her family and the Lord.

Funeral Services will be 11 am Saturday, July 27, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Williams and Bro. Jim Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 3 pm to 8 pm Friday, July 26, 2019.
