Ella Mae (Woodyard) "Cookie" Ganoe

Ella Mae (Woodyard) "Cookie" Ganoe, 69, of Auburntown went home to the loving arms of Jesus on April 11, following an extended illness.

Cookie was born Feb. 18, 1946 in Pearisburg, VA to Elmer L. and Margie T. Woodward. She graduated from Peterstown High School (WV) in 1964, She then attended Concord College in Athens, WV, where she received her B.A. in accounting in 1971. Cookie married Thomas W. Ganoe in 1969 in Rich Creek, VA. They moved to Tennessee in 1972, where they welcomed two children, Geoffrey and Mani Kaye (Kati) into the world. The family moved "home" to Auburntown in 1986.
Cookie was preceded in death by her daughters, Cynthia and Traci, her parents and two sisters, Johanna and Nancy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom, of Auburntown; son, Geoffrey of Auburntown; daughter, Kati (Paul) Payne of Des Moines, IA; and two grandchildredn, Braeden and Nate Payne of Des Moines, IA.

In lieu of flowers, the family askes that donations be made to Tom and Cookie's food ministry, Because We Care.
