PrintMs. Eliza Ann Sanders Smith, 85, of Columbia S.C. passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. A native of Ridge Spring, S.C., she was preceded in death by her parents, Darling Wilson Sanders & Edna Leila Sanders; Husband, Broadus Smith; Son, Wade Padgett; Sisters, Addie Hope Smith & Ruby Orander and brother, Andrew Sanders.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. David Moody officiating. Interment will follow in the Jernigan cemetery. Pallbearers include, Scott Douglas, Charlie Jerry, Dale Kendall, Claude Sanders, Curtis and Sean Smith. Visitation with the family will be 5 pm – 7 pm Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Smith and her husband, W.C. of Bradyville, TN.; daughter-in-law Beverly Padgett, Grandsons, Brent Padgett and Boyd (Ivy) Padgett; Great Granddaughters, Lacy and April Padgett all of Manning, S.C.; Nieces and Nephews, Curtis (Debra) Smith, Jack (Donna) Smith, Sean (Jenny) Smith, Stacey Smith, Dale (Leila) Kendall, Claude (Charlotte) Sanders; Caregiver, Charlie Jerry and Dear Friend, Irene Anderson.
Eliza was retired from H & R Block and attended First Church of God of Columbia, S.C.. She was fun loving, a devoted caregiver, great dancer, and a friend to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
