Ed Sissom appointed Road Commissioner

At the Cannon County Commissioners meeting on January 18th, Edward Sissom was appointed as Road Commissioner in Zone 1, to filled the position vacated by the death of the Jerry Pelham.

Edward Sissom is a native Cannon County resident. In 2008, He retired from CSX Transportation with 35 years employment, the last 25 years in management. In his capacity at CSX, he managed employees, handled budgets, and oversaw engineering projects of track and road building.

After his retirement, he spent 9 months in the Gulf overseeing reconstruction of the railroad following the destruction of Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike.  He currently owns an excavating company.

Mr. Sissom was Cannon County Road Commissioner in the 1980's.

He says he looks forward to working with the current Road Commissioners and Road Supervisor to help improve Cannon County's roads.
