Drug, worthless check charges heard



Judge Susan Melton presided over General Sessions on Tuesday. Some of the results of the various cases that appeared on the docket include:

Donald Lee Curlee pled guilty to two counts of passing a worthless check. In each case he was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in jail. Those sentences were suspended upon equal time on probation, paying restitution and paying the costs. In another case Curlee agreed to the violation of his probation. He was ordered to serve 21 days and his probation was extended 11 months 27 days.

Anthony Lee Curtis agreed to the violation of his probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail.

Amber Elaine Fahey agreed to the violation of her probation. She was ordered to serve 45 days and her probation was extended 11 months 8 days.

Angela R. Johnson pled guilty to passing a worthless check. She was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon serving 10 days, her probation extended 11 months 19 days, paying restitution and the costs.

Corey Scott McNeese agreed to the violation of his probation. His probation was extended 2 months and he was ordered to pay the costs.
Tina Elaine Meador agreed to the violation of her probation. Her probation was extended 11 months 29 days and she was ordered to pay the costs.

Ricky R. Rodgers agreed to the violation of his probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days and his probation was extended 5 months.

Randall Clark Smotherman agreed to the violation of his probation. He was ordered to serve 45 days and his probation was extended 9 months 7 days.

Angela Marie Steiner agreed to the violation of her probation. She was ordered to serve 21 days and her probation was extended 11 months 29 days.

Samantha Joy Briggs' charge of disorderly conduct was bound over to the September term of the Grand Jury.

Terry Gene Brower's charges of initiating the process to manufacture methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling were bound over to the September term of the Grand Jury.

Woodbury Police
Jaun Vega was charged with speeding, driving without a license and a violation of the open container law by Patrolman Trace Stoetzel on June 22. A hearing is set for July 16 in General Sessions Court.

Shawn Soales was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license. A hearing is set for Aug. 27 in General Sessions Court.

Jordan Merriman was charged with criminal tresspass at Quick Stop. Making the arrest was Patrolman Trac Stoetzel. A hearing is set for July 13 in General Sessions Court.

Charlotte Hutchins was charged with simple possession of a schedule III drug (Valium) by Patrolman Brent Brock. A hearing is set for July 23 in General Sessions Court.
Jamie Jones faces simple possession of a schedule VI drug (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernailia. Making the arrest was Chief Kevin Mooneyham. A hearing is set for July 16 in General Sessions Court.

Cody Allen Lex Kendall was charged with driving on a suspended license by Patrolman John House. A hearing is set for July 23 in General Sessions Court.


Cannon Co. Sheriff’s Department

Joseph Starnes was taken into custody for a violation of probation.

A black Dodge SUV was observed on Highway 64 when a patrol officer witnessed someone in the passenger side of the vehicle tossed a pizza box out the window. Deputy Jordan McGee was writing the driver Amber Johnson a warning ticket when he noticed she seemed nervous. He then explained to Johnson that he had a drug detecting canine in his vehicle and asked for permission to search her vehicle. Two marijuana pipes and marijuana were discovered. Johnson was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernailia. The passenger, Matthew Pursley, was given a citation for drug paraphernalia.

Bobby Odom reported a burglary at his home. The only things missing were a 52-inch television and a 350 Chevy turbo transmission. The back door to the house had been kicked in.

Warrants were served, separately, on: John B. Carter, George W. Norris, Sara Sha Milligan and Brandy Paull.
