Donor Appreciation Blood Drive this Thursday

The Woodbury Lions Club host an American Red Cross Blood Drive every odd month, on the third Thursday each year at the Lions Memorial Building on We Serve Circle located off West Lehman Street close to the ball fields in Woodbury.

The May blood drive has been known as the Donor Appreciation Blood Drive where all donors who have given in the past are encouraged to come and donate again.

Thursday, May 16, 2019 from noon until 6 p.m. is the date and time, so mark your calendars. Blood Donors are our local heroes who give of themselves for other to have a chance to live. The local businesses in Cannon County see that these donors are local heroes and donate items as door prizes to those who give the "Gift of Life".

Each person who donates draws a ticket that responses to a prize of the list of items being given away. Oil Changes, Tire rotations, Basic Detail Auto Cleaning, Meals at local restaurants, Gift Certificates from $5 to $25, Gift Card, Gas, Haircuts, pedicures, hats, movie passes, and much more will be given away. At the end of the blood drive, a drawing will take place with the names of all donors giving, a number will be drawn relating to the sign in number and that person will be contacted so that they can be presented a $100 bill from the Lions Club as the Grand Prize.

Blood is always needed and currently the blood banks are short, and summer is about to hit where the need is always greater. Everyone knows someone who has had a need for blood. Cancer patients, burn patients, women giving birth, knee replacements, hip replacements, and most other surgery's, are just a few examples of the people needing this gift of life.
