Donald Edgar "Donnie" Smithson, age 86, of Bradyville passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Tennessee Veteran's Home. He is a native of Cannon County.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Vernie Gray Smithson of Bradyville; Children, Roger (Mary Ann) Gray of Waverly, Jackie (Ricky) Burger of Woodbury, Tracy (Steven) Hale of Woodbury, & Daniel (Leslie) Smithson of Bradyville; Sister, Louise Sullivan of Bradyville; Brothers, Loy & Jerry Smithson, both of Woodbury; Grandchildren, Christopher Gray, Kayla Burger,Brooke Young, Bailey & Dalton Hale, Shelby, Brett, & Bryce Smithson; Great Grandchildren, Kaylee & Kelsey Gray and Kensley Young.

Mr. Smithson was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ and was a retired management factory worker. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Marines. He was a devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed working on his farm.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, October 26, 2015.
