Both parties were charged following a domestic disturbance which reportedly took place May 20.

Bethany Tate Elrod was charged with domestic assault and possession of a controlled substance on that date by Woodbury Police Chief Tony Burnett.

After police were called to 106 West Water Street on a report of a disturbance, Bethany Elrod agreed to leave the residence until things cooled off. She returned approximately one our later and engaged in an altercation with her husband, Courtney Elrod.

While in the process of making the arrest, officers found on Bethany drugs believed to be Xanax, for which she did not possess a valid subscription.

Courtney Elrod was charged with disorderly conduct following the second incident at the residence. Bethany stated Courtney would not let her leave, resulting in an assault with an undeterminable primary aggressor.

Bond for Courtney Elrod was set at $500. Total bond for Bethany Elrod was set at $4,500. Both are scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on June 21.

Bethany Elrod was charged with an additional offense following a traffic stop on June 1 by Woodbury Police Sgt. John House. She was charged with violation of bond conditions, second offense, after she was found sitting on Courtney’s lap when they were pulled over on Highway 53N. One of her bond conditions was to have no contact with Courtney. Her bond was set at $100,000. Her court date for that offense was set for July 19.
