Defendants Indicted By Grand Jury Enter Pleas



Friday marked plea day for those persons indicted by the January, 2011 term of the Cannon County Grand Jury.  Those defendants entering pleas during Friday’s session included:

Mark Pless and Jennie N. Rawls entered not guilty pleas to the charges of sale of a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell controlled substances.  They were reset for May 5, 2011.  Pless had separate charges of sale of a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell narcotics which were also reset for May 5th.

Adam McClure entered a not guilty plea to the charge of  TennCare fraud.  He was reset for May 5, 2011.

Brandon M. Brown entered not guilty pleas to 5 counts of TennCare fraud.  He was reset for May 5, 2011.

Cynthia Hix pled guilty under judicial diversion to the charge of sale of schedule II drugs.  She was placed on supervised probation for 3 years, fined $2,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs.

Johnny Hix  pled guilty under judicial diversion to the charge of sale of schedule II drugs.  He was placed on supervised probation for 3 years, fined $2,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs.

Robert Lee and Tonya Greer entered not guilty pleas to the charges of sale of a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle to keep, use or sell drugs.  Greer was appointed an attorney and both were reset for May 5, 2011.

Elijah Murphy entered a not guilty plea to the charges of burglary and theft.  He was appointed an attorney and reset for May 5, 2011.

Travis Lee Dobson entered not guilty pleas to the charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, simple possession of schedule VI, simple possession of schedule IV, simple possession of schedule III, simple possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was reset for June 10, 2011.

Angela Trisler pled guilty to the charge of failure to appear.  She was sentenced to 1 year in prison as a Range 1, 30 percent offender.  Trisler also pled guilty to the charge of promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine.  She received a 3 year prison sentence and was fined $2,000.00.  A suspended sentence hearing was schedule for June 10, 2011.

Johnny Brian Hollis entered not guilty pleas to the charges of two counts of theft, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a weapon to go armed.  He was appointed an attorney and reset for May 5, 2011.

Stephanie Mooneyham entered not guilty pleas to two counts of theft.  She was reset for May 5, 2011.

Kevin Troy Coe entered a plea of not guilty to the charges of domestic assault and two counts aggravated assault.  He was reset for May 5, 2011.

Shannon Cobble pled guilty to the charge of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.  He was sentenced to 4 years in prison as a Range 1, 30 percent offender and fined $2,000.00.  In another case, Cobble pled guilty to the charge of convicted felon in possession of a handgun.  He received a 1 year sentence and forfeited his weapon.  Cobble also pled guilty to driving while license revoked and received an 11 month, 29 day jail sentence and a $50.00 fine.  A suspended sentence hearing was set for June 10, 2011.

Tony Lynn McPeak entered a not guilty plea to the charge of theft.  He was appointed an attorney and reset for May 5, 2011.  McPeak was also found to be in contempt of court for talking to another inmate during the proceedings. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail to be served consecutive to any sentence he receives.

Marcus Tenpenny pled guilty to the charge of theft over $1,000.00.  He was sentenced to 2 years in prison as a Range 1, 30 percent offender.  He also pled guilty to driving while license revoked and received an 11 month, 29 day jail sentence.  He was ordered to serve both sentences in their entirety.

Robyn Wilmouth pled guilty under judicial diversion to theft over $1,000.00.  She was placed on probation for 2 years, ordered to pay restitution to the victim and ordered to pay the court costs.

Joshua Crook pled guilty under judicial diversion to theft over $1,000.00.  He was placed on probation for 2 years, ordered to pay restitution to the victim and ordered to pay the court costs.

Cory Lee Crawford Young entered not guilty pleas to the charges of initiation of a process intended to result in the manufacture of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle to manufacture methamphetamine and criminal trespass.  He was reset for May 5, 2011.

Jerry Richard Rutledge, Jr. entered a not guilty plea to the charges of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was appointed an attorney and reset for May 5, 2011.

William Scott Lewis entered not guilty pleas to the charges of simple possession of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of schedule VI drugs and driving while license revoked.  He was appointed an attorney and reset for May 5, 2011.

Barbara Nichols Moss pled guilty to the charge of disorderly conduct.  She was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to serve her sentence.

Barry Lee Spurlock entered a not guilty plea to the charge of driving under the influence.  He was reset for May 5, 2011.

As the spring, summer and fall progress, those defendants entering not guilty pleas will reappear several times before they have a jury trial.  We will keep you updated on the progress of their cases during subsequent court dates.
