David Ray Davenport, age 60, passed awayWednesday, February 29, 2012, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

He was a member ofSycamoreBaptistChurchand was a truck driver for H & D Trucking.

Mr. Davenport was preceded in death by his father, Vess Davenport.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Davenport of  Liberty; daughter, Lindsey Davenport of Liberty; grandson, Preslee Davenport Merriman of Liberty; mother, Magline Davenport of Gassaway; 4 sisters, Brenda and her husband David Dodd of Gassaway, Darlene and her husband Mark Gilliam of Lebanon, Regina and her husband Stephen Mayo of Bradyville, Pam Duggin of Gassaway.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2012 at DeKalb Funeral at 2 p.m. with Bro. Tim Pack and Bro. Tim Pelham officiating with burial to follow in Sycamore Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to a scholarship fund for David's grandson, Preslee.
