Daniel Ray Highers, 57, of Crossville, TN died February 19, 2010, at Wyndridge Health and Rehab Center.

He was born Sept. 21, 1952 to Raymond and Jimmie Lee Speck Highers in Toledo, OH. He served in the United States Army and before retiring he worked as a Warehouse Inspector / Maintenance. Mr. Highers enjoyed History, Football, Bar-be-cueing and working out. He was of Baptist faith and was a member of the Woodbury Assembly of God Church.

Memorial service for Mr. Higher will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Crossville Memorial with L.E. Speck officiating.

His survivors are: wife Sheila Miller Highers of Woodbury; mother and stepfather: Jimmie Lee and Ed Denny of Lebanon; daughter Ashlee Highers and grandchildren Shane Highers and Brayden Highers of Cookeville; brothers: Terry Michael Highers and wife Linda of Smithville and James Earl Petty and wife Sherry of Dallas, TX; and sister Sandra Coffman and husband Roger of Huntsville, AL.

He was preceded in death of his father.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
