County's budget, tax rate to be determined Thursday

The Cannon County Commission is scheduled to meet in a special session this Thursday, July 20.

The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. in the courtroom of the Cannon County Courthouse.

Two items are on the agenda.

The first is to approve appropriations for Fiscal Year 2017/2018.

Next, the commissioners will set the tax rate to finance the appropriations.

Although it is anticipated there will be an increase in the tax rate, the amount, if there is an increase, has not been determined.
