Corlew Reaches Decision On Next Clerk And Master

Chancellor Robert Corlew has reached his decision on the person who will serve as Cannon County's next Clerk and Master, the Cannon Courier has learned.

That person is Bill Bryson, a longtime local attorney with the firm Bryson and Bryson.

Bryson is expected to be sworn into the position this afternoon. He replaces Harold Patrick, who resigned the position effective June 30.

However, Patrick agreed to serve until a replacement was named, and will handle the caseload in Cannon County Chancery Court today.

Clerk and Master is appointed by the Chancellor, and serves six-year terms.

Bryson currently serves as the attorney for the Town of Woodbury. It is not known at this time whether he will continue in that role.
