The Pleasant Ridge Communications tower to enhance inter-operable communications in CannonCounty is making good progress, according to Roy Sullivan, Director of Cannon County 911.

The tower foundation was dug Monday for the installation of the estimated 5000 pounds of steel reinforcing rebar for the concrete foundation that will ultimately support the 180-foot tall communications tower.

The first round of concrete was poured Tuesday and the three concrete piers that the steel tower will bolt to will be poured Thursday, finishing the tower foundation.

The 20-foot tower sections are being constructed off site and that phase of the construction is almost finished. The 22,000-pound concrete communications shelter is also almost finished and will be shipped to the site the same day as the tower segments.

Director Sullivan also stated It will be impressive to watch them unload and assemble the tower sections in 60-foot segments by crane.
