Closeness Of Cannon County Community Appreciated
To the Editor,

I just wanted to let you know how close of a community we have here in Cannon County. We just had our 1st Annual Annie Cox Scholarship Fund Car Show on Saturday November 7th. What a wonderful event we had, great cars, great food and amazing support from everyone.

In helping to organize this show I met people I never knew and was told many stories about Mrs. Annie I had never heard. In such a bad economic time people came out to support us. Many of our local business opened their wallets to help make it possible for us to host this event. A special thank you goes out to everyone who helped us. I also want to thank West Side Elementary School for setting up the Scholarship Fund as well as the staff who volunteered there time.

Although I never had the honor of having Mrs. Cox as my teacher, I’m proud to say that my daughter did. In their short time together it made memories that will last a lifetime, not only for my daughter but our entire family as well. If you or your child had Mrs. Annie you know exactly what I mean. If you didn’t you will never know what you missed. Mrs. Cox was truly one in a million.

When we picked November 7th for our show we didn’t know what to expect. Would we have a good turn out? Would the weather be cold or would it be raining? Would everyone enjoy their time out with us? No one knew. What we did have was a wonderful show full of support and one of the most beautiful days this year. I think someone; I mean I know someone upstairs put in a good word for us. I also know that Mrs. Annie Cox was smiling down upon us all. Again I want to thank everyone for making this such a success and hope to do it again next year.

Thanks,
T.N.S.R.
