Claude Alvin Roberts



Claude Alvin Roberts, 60, of Auburntown died July 16, 2010. He was a native of Alexandria, Lousiana. His parents were the late Claude Roberts and Dorothy Mae (Coleman) Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Burkes) Roberts of Auburntown; son, Sean Christopher (Candice) Roberts of Zachary, LA; step-sons, Marty (Karen) Burkes of Walker, LA and Kyle (Terry) Burkes-Garland of Columbia, TN; step-daughter, Tracie (Brian) Burkes Cupid of Denham Springs, LA; brothers, Micheal Dale (Becky) Roberts of Pineville, LA, Charles Ray (Wanda) Roberts of Woodbury, Carl Lee Roberts of Baker, LA; sister, Lelia Gale (Jack) Gonzales of Zachary, LA; a special friend who served with him in the Army, Joey (Brenda) Nemjo of Milton, FL; grandchildren, Jesse Connor, Regina (B.J.) McIntyre, Amber (Cory) Winburn, Shelby Roberts, Bayleigh Roberts, Phillip Roberts, Corey Mae Roberts, Tristin Burkes, Cody Johnson and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. One of his favorite pass times was collecting Civil War relics and studying it's history. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. It was said he loved people and never met a stranger.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 2-8 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Following the visitation here he will be transported to the Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, LA for full military honors and burial later this week.
