Christine Markum Melton, age 94, of Readyville, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Boulevard Terrace. She was a native of Cannon Co.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean & Paul Parker of Readyville; Grandchildren, Leandra & John Habel of Unionville and Kevin & Michelle Parker of La Vergne; Great Grandchildren, Emma Habel and Micah Parker.

Ms. Melton was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Markum & Dovie Higgins Markum; her husband, Norman Brown Melton; and her siblings, Della Brown, McDonald Markum, Fred Markum, Clemmie White Melton, John Markum, Lester "Jack" Markum, Isaac Markum, Jr., Chalmus Markum, Floyd Markum, Walter Thurman Markum, Thelma "Polly" McCullough, and Frenchie Estes.

She was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, a homemaker, and a dairy farmer. She loved to garden and work in her flowers.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup and Bro. Al Bugg officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Monday, July 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
