Mr. Charlie Ray Smith age 93 of McMinnville, TN, (Blues Hill Community) died Thursday, April 03, 2014, at N.H.C. Health Care in McMinnville, TN. He was born March 07, 1921, in Cannon County, TN, was a retired factory worker, a farmer, and a member of Sunny Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents Taylor Floyd and Ethel Bell Smith, his wife Alice Lorine Jones Smith, grandsons Roger Smith, Jr. and Lynn Bell, his sisters Velma Fugett, Alice Steed, Hilmer Hale, Annie Lee Todd, and Naomi Barrett, and a brother Raymond Smith.

 Survivors include his children Mary (Billy) Bell, McMinnville, TN, Delbert Ray (Rose) Smith, El Paso, TX, Roger Smith, Liberty, TN, and Russell (Demetria) Smith, McMinnville, TN, sisters Audrey Gant, Indiana, and Nonnie Mathney, McMinnville, TN, and a brother Willie T. Smith, McMinnville, TN. 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren also survive.

 Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 05, 2014, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. John Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery. The Smith Family will receive friends Friday from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again Saturday from 10 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, OaKdale Christian Academy, or to the charity of your choice.
