Charlie Daniels Band to appear



LEWISBURG, Tenn. - The Goats, Music and More Festival, honoring the famous fainting goats of Marshall County, returns for its 11th year Sept. 26-28 at Rock Creek Park. The event is free and open to the public.

The Goats, Music and More Festival was named a Top 20 Event for October by the Southeast Tourism Society for its Southern flavor, top-notch free musical entertainment, goat shows that celebrate fainting and Boer goats, food of every description, arts and crafts, kids games and activities. 

The legendary Charlie Daniels Band will perform 8 p.m. Sept. 28 on the Rock Creek Park stage.
During Charlie Daniels' 50-year career, he has scored hits on the rock, country, pop and Christian charts. His signature song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," topped both country and pop charts, bringing him international acclaim. Charlie Daniels Band will also sign a special guitar for a raffle in order to benefit Team Brandon. Brandon Bradley is a local 17-year-old recently diagnosed with leukemia. An informational booth on Team Brandon with the guitar will be set up at the festival.

The real stars of the festival take the show tents as The Rock Creek Classic Myotonic Goat Show and Southern Middle TN ABGA Boer Goat Show take place Sept. 27. The World Grand Champion Fainting Goat Show and two Southern Middle TN ABGA Boer Goat Shows place Sept. 28.

Vendors, kid activities like water balloon fights and pony rides, and the 5th annual 5K Goat Gallop 7 a.m. Sept. 28 will also be featured.
