Charles Winfred Northcutt



Mr. Charles "George" Northcutt, 80, died June 30, 2010. He was a native of Cannon County and had lived in McMinnville for the last fourteen years. His parents were the late Joe Loughry "Pete" Northcutt and Lera Mae (Tilford) Northcutt.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Coleen (King) Northcutt and second wife, Margaret (Boyd) Northcutt; daughters, Sherryl Northcutt and Barbara Northcutt; a brother, Foster Northcutt and a sister, Jean Alexander.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Tim Watson of Hendersonville; a brother, Dick & Isabell Northcutt of Brentwood; sister-in-law, Edith Northcutt of Woodbury; a sister, Carol Banta of Gatlinburg; grandchildren, Marc Charles Elliott, Monique Johnson, Martinique Klien, T. J. Watson and Melody Watson, as well as, seven great grandchildren.

Mr. Northcutt was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War. He moved from Woodbury to Council Bluff, Iowa where he lived for about 30 years, before returning to McMinnville, Tennessee to live. He enjoyed going to the McMinnville Senior Center and playing pool with friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 5, 2010 from 11-1 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the Smith Funeral Home chapel at 1 PM on Monday. Hunter Hay will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Riverside Garden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McMinnville Senior Center.
