Change Your Life Radio Tour Kicks Off At Arts Center Jan. 8
Some people listen to talk radio while others listen to sports radio and some, believe it or not, still listen to radio for their favorite kind of music.

Coach Micheal Burt is doing more than listening to radio. For Coach Micheal Burt, radio has become a platform to change people’s lives.

Signs of The Coach Micheal Burt Show and its impact can be seen throughout Middle Tennessee. A billboard on I-24 is the latest sign that the show is growing. It’s a snapshot of Coach Burt along with his co-host, Dr. Colby Jubenville, standing behind a message geared to attract listeners.

The message states, “Change Your Life Radio Sundays from 12 -1 p.m. on WLAC” and for Coach Burt this sign is the first of many ways that he wants to let listeners know that radio has taken on a whole new meaning in Middle Tennessee.

“This is something I have wanted to do and as my message continues to grow from a regional to a national presence and it’s something that is now a reality,” said Burt.

Not Your Typical Coach Call in Show

Burt believes there is a need for this type of content and ends most conversations by asking people one question, “Who is coaching you?”  His point is simple. Coaching is a proven method to moving us past where we are to where we want to go.

When asked, “Are the airwaves ready for this kind of show,” Burt reflected back on his own life.

“Think back to the last time you had a coach in your life. What is the first thing you remember about that coach? Chances are that coach probably had a conversation with you that you did not want to have. At some point, that coach probably made you do something you really didn’t want to do and it was a coach that made you become something you really didn’t think you could become.  Its time this concept be provided to the masses.”

He has a point. And others are taking notice.

Who Is Coaching You?

Spend some time with Burt and he will ask you some hard questions.

“I have come to the conclusion adults are searching for three things: direction, clarity, and focus and we ignore the triggers in our life that signal to us that we need it,” said Burt.

He believes that the reasons vary but usually the lack of these things in people’s lives usually has to do with time or energy.

“Our lives are not set up for us to slow down, in fact, we are asked to speed up – in everything we do,” said Burt.

Change Your Life Radio is about slowing down, confronting the reality and asking the hard questions”

“What I have found is that adults at all phases in their lives or careers need guidance similar to that we give to people in the pre-teen and teen years,” said Burt.

But the question still remains, “Can a radio show really change your life?”

If you ask Coach Micheal Burt, he would tell you it could, and that we all move through stages of our personal and professional lives at different speeds. If you have a dream, however, and the courage to pursue that dream, then Change Your Life Radio is something to add to your weekly schedule.

Extending Past Radio

Change Your Life Radio isn’t just impacting those tuning into the show but more importantly the people who become active listeners and call in.

The vision of the show continues to be to create real, powerful change within its listeners. To do this Coach Burt realized he had to meet his listeners in person and created “One Powerful Lunch.” Puleo’s Grille in Murfreesboro, TN., serves as the show’s locale for “changing lives” during lunch.

Each week “Change Your Life Radio” and the shows hosts’, Coach Micheal Burt and The Stategist, Dr. Colby Jubenville, provide an opportunity to have a "face-to-face" lunch to discuss the various issues listeners face. “One Powerful Lunch” is an opportunity for the audience to delve deeper into previous show’s topics and a chance to connect the collective passions of active participants looking to “play at a different level.”

Small Towns, Big Dreams Tour

In alignment with the show’s vision of touching as many lives as possible, Coach Burt is taking a grassroots effort during his “Small Towns, Big Dreams” Tour throughout the Southeast region of the country.

“Small Towns, Big Dreams” is a part of Coach Burt’s belief that people want to connect to their source and to take part in causes they deem worthy. The purpose of the Tour is to leave a significant contribution to all those impacted by disability.

The first stop for the “Small Towns, Big Dreams” Tour is at Burt’s home town on January 8 at the Cannon Country Arts Center. All proceeds from the event will be donated to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Headlined by musical entertainment and a keynote address around the newly released book, “This Ain’t No Practice Life”, the event is a night of inspiration, passion, and clarity about the future.

Ticket prices vary ranging between $20-$45.
