Chancellor Corlew Hears Two-Day Criminal Docket

The Honorable Robert E. Corlew III presided over Circuit Court in Cannon County last Thursday and Friday, July 16 and 17. Representing the State of Tennessee was Assistant District Attorney David Puckett and Assistant Public Defender Ken McKnight.

Those cases on Thursday’s docket included:

Cases # (s) F09-46: State vs. Don Greer Jr., represented by Dale Peterson. The judge reset the case until August 10.

Cases # (s) F09-14: State vs. Richard D. Wilson Jr., motions, represented by Dale Peterson. Wilson had been indicted on three counts. Count one was Aggravated Assault, Vandalism and Failure to Appear. He pled Nolo Contendre to the Aggravated Assault and received 11 months and 29 days , time served, suspended. Also Nolo Contendre to Failure to Appear and received a 11-29 to run concurrently with count one; it also was suspended for time served. Count number two was dismissed.

Cases # (s) F09-41: State vs. Donald Wilkes, suspended sentence application, represented by Stan Bennett. The court denied his application for Suspended Sentence due to his lengthy criminal history.

Cases # (s) F08-54B: State vs. Wilma Sue Barrett, motion for unsupervised probation. The court denied her request for unsupervised probation.

Friday docket:

Cases # (s) F08-95A / M08-47: State vs. Donald Reeder, represented by Hilton Conger. His case was reset to September 10.

Cases # (s) F08-95B: State vs. Nick Reeder, represented by Jeremy Trapp. His attorney Jeremy Trapp is no longer his attorney and he has a new one out of Cookeville. His case was reset to September 10.

Cases # (s) F08-82: State vs. Jaron C. Taylor, represented by Tim Hatton. His attorney was trying to get his sentence reduced to the minimum of three years. It was denied by the judge when the prosecutor showed that his sentence was that if an agreed sentence

Cases # (s) F09-15: State vs. J.W. Bass Jr., plea, represented by John Price. His case was reset to September 10.

Cases # (s) F08-20: State vs. Sarah Davis, revocation, represented by Public Defender. Her case was reset to September 10.

Cases # (s) F08-23: State vs. Jeremy Sissom, revocation, Community Corrections, no attorney. His case was recessed to July 30.

Cases # (s) F09-43A: State vs. State vs. Larry Henry II, plea, represented by the Public Defender. His case was reset to September 10.

Cases # (s) M07-55: State vs. William Jack Sullivan. Brion Payne represented him. His case was reset for July 31.

Cases # (s) M09-50: State vs. Timothy W. Patrick. He represented himself in this matter. He was charged with Criminal Impersonation. He received six months in the Cannon County Jail, a $50.00 fine plus court cost. He was put on probation.

Cases # (s) F09-48: State vs. Eric Allen Young. The Public Defender will represent him. His case was reset to September 10.
