CCHS teams to play in two holiday tournaments

This week finds the Lions and Lionettes at home on Tuesday in a return matchup against Bledsoe County.

Cannon County Lionettes won the first of the series 59-47 in Pikeville on November 20th.

The Lions remember losing a heartbreaker to Bledsoe 59-56.

Thursday the teams travel to Watertown to begin play in the Watertown Christmas Tournament slated for December 20-22.

Cannon will be involved all three days win or lose as each team will play for a place 1-8.

The first round will be held at Watertown Middle School and will pit the Lionettes against a Kentucky school Owsley County at 4:00.

Goodpasture and Red Boiling Springs is in the bracket opposite meaning they will face one of those two teams in the next round Friday also at Watertown Middle School. The tournament concludes with the final round at Watertown High School Saturday December 22nd.

The Lions first round opponent will be Goodpasture also at Watertown Middle Thursday evening at 5:30. Their next opponent for Friday will be either DeKalb County or Forrest.

Saturday's games will be played at Watertown High School.

Both CCHS teams will also be playing in the Nera White Christmas Tournament which is scheduled for Dec. 27-29 in Lafayette.
