CCHS sets 'Pink Out' vs. MTCS

Tennessee is going pink to fight breast cancer!

37 high school football teams across the state are donning pink jerseys to fight breast cancer. Cannon County High School is proud to be one of the schools participating in this campaign.

The Lions are hosting Pink Out Night Friday, October 9th at 7p.m. at Fred Schwartz Field when they host Middle Tennessee Christian. Pink Out Night is sponsored by Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee, and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
First National Bank, Community Wellness Clinic, Huff and Puff Trucking and the Cannon County Farm Bureau have partnered to offer special "I Can Fight Cancer" pink t-shirts. You can buy your t-shirts at any of those merchants, as well as through any Cannon County Cheerleader.

Saint Thomas Stones River Hospital is the official sponsor of the Cannon County Cheerleaders on the night of the game. "We are so proud to be a part of the Cannon County Pink Out! We urge all women after the age of 40 to get regular mammograms, and for everyone to spread the word about breast cancer prevention and screening," said Shan Barlow, Director of Marketing for Saint Thomas Stones River.

The local coordinating sponsor of Pink Out Night is Farm Bureau Insurance Agency Manager Ron Poston.

"We are honored to be helping coordinating this event. It is such a pleasure to work alongside our other partners in the community to raise awareness for breast cancer, and all cancer in general. I appreciate our staff for putting in the hours necessary to pull off this event. We also hope our opponent from Murfreesboro will bring a great crowd and wear pink as well," said Agency Manager Poston.

This is the fourth year that Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee has been the statewide partner of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Farm Bureau Insurance has raised more than $1,000,000 for the charity.

"The American Cancer Society is proud to include Cannon County High School and Woodbury in our Making Strides campaign," said Lacie Simonton, senior director of partner relationships for the American Cancer Society. "The way that the community has come together for this fundraiser speaks volumes about the school, the town, and the entire state of Tennessee."
