CCHS goes pink
Wednesday, October 14, 2015 1:14 pm Pink was the dominant color during the Oct. 9 home game against MTCS as the Cannon County high school football team and cheerleaders wore pink uniforms. Cannon County was one of 37 schools around the state who chose to wear pink in support of those individuals fighting breast cancer. "It is something special to prove that we support those and tell them to keep fighting that they can get through it," CCHS senior running back Austin Brock said. Several local companies including First National Bank, Community Wellness Clinic and Huff and Puff Trucking have partnered with Farm Bureau to sell "I Can Fight Cancer" pink T-Shirts. The pink T-shirts were worn by the cheerleaders during the game and were offered for sale to the general public. "We were very happy that Coach (T.J.) Daniels allowed us to outfit the team in pink jerseys and socks," Poston said. "Not all men like to wear pink, but we all have mothers, grandmothers, sisters and female friends that have been affected by this disease. It is just very special to see everyone from players to cheerleaders to fans in the stands wearing pink in support of breast cancer survivors."
