Carl Homer Sissom, 82 of the Hollow Springs Community passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Thomas Rutherford.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years:  Patricia E. Bechtol Sissom of the Hollow Springs Community; 3 Sons: Mark (Jenny) Sissom, Dwayne (Deia) Sissom and Gregory (Bethany) Sissom all of the Hollow Springs Community; 9 Grandchildren: Lindsay, Caleb, Adlen and Ethan Sissom, Aaron (Amber) Sissom, Amanda (Jonathon) Francis, Will, McKenzie and Haley Sissom; 2 Great Grandchildren:  Allison and Waylon Francis; 7 Siblings:  Donna Mae Taylor, Pharris Sissom, Ellis Sissom, Morgan (Brenda) Sissom, Barney (Linda) Sissom, Edward (Judi) Sissom and Wanda Dailey all of Cannon Co.; 2 Brothers-in-law:  Roger (Carol) Bechtol and Danny Bechtol of Taylor, MI.

He was born in Cannon County and was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Hessie Sissom.

Carl was a member of Gilley Hill Methodist Church.  He proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1951 to 1954 and was retired from Firestone-Bridgestone.  Carl loved the Lord, being outdoors, working in his garden and being with his family.  He always enjoyed his Thanksgiving rabbit hunt with his sons and grandsons and looked forward to it every year.

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Sunday April, 27, 2014 with Bro. John Brown and Bro. Joe Sissom officiating.  Interment will follow in Gilley Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Mark, Dwayne, Gregory, Aaron, Will and Caleb Sissom and Honorary Pallbearers:  Ethan Sissom and Waylon Francis.  Visitation with the family will be from 3 pm until 9 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014.
