A Cannon County man wanted for additional charges of rape and attempted rape of a child has been arrested in New York and faces extradition, according to Cannon County Sheriff’s Investigator Anthony Young.

Joseph O. Sullivan has been charged with one count of rape of a child and two counts of attempted rape of a child, Young said. The crimes occurred in 2012.

Sullivan was recently arrested by U.S. Marshals in Jamestown, N.Y., and has waived extradition. When he arrives in Cannon County he will be under $250,000 bond, Young said.

Sullivan is the fifth man Young has charged with sex crimes against children in the last five weeks.
