Cannon County residents graduating with honors in the fall 2009 commencement ceremony at MTSU meet with university President Sidney A. McPhee to discuss their future plans.

Standing is exercise science major Steven Jarred Asbury of Woodbury, a 2005 alumnus of Cannon County Central High School; seated with McPhee is accounting major Heather Witty of Woodbury, a 2006 CCCHS alumna.

Asbury, a magna cum laude graduate who earned Dean’s List honors multiple times at MTSU, is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Alpha Lambda honor societies, plans to attend graduate school for physical therapy and become a licensed physical therapist. He is the son of Bo and Michelle Asbury of Woodbury.

Witty, who plans to return to MTSU to earn a master’s degree in accounting and become a certified professional accountant, is the daughter of Gary and Darlene Witty and the granddaughter of Ruth Witty and the late Lee Arnold Witty, all of Woodbury.

She also is the granddaughter of the late Pauline Fann of Woodbury and the late Jackie Fann of Jacksonville, Fla.
