The Cannon County Chamber of Commerce is offering a special treat this Halloween.

On Oct. 30 at the Cannon County Senior Center, the chamber will host its annual Chili Bowl Cook-Off.

The contest to see who makes the best chili in Cannon County offers three divisions – businesses, organizations and individuals.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner in each category.

The cost to enter your chili is $10, which also covers the cost of setting up a table to showcase your business.

A ticket to taste all the chili entries is $5, and the price also includes a large bowl of your favorite chili plus a drink and condiments.

Parents can also bring their children to the Chili Cook-Off to enjoy hotdogs and candy before heading out to trick-or-treat.

To enter your chili in the contest contact the Chamber of Commerce at 563-2222 or call the Senior Center at 563-5304.

The details of the chili contest were announced at the regular meeting of the Chamber’s Board of Directors Tuesday at Stones River Hospital.

At the meeting, four new chamber members were announced: Hibdon’s Body Shop, Cannon Arts Dance Studio, Southern Starr Promotions and Woodbury Veterinary Hospital, There will be a grand opening for the veterinary hospital on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

In other business, chamber services director Carolyn Motley announced that the chamber made a profit on this year’s Color of Fall Car Show of $2,562.62. She said there were 93 cars entered in the show this year.
