The holiday season will come to life in Cannon County on Nov. 18-19 during the annual Cannon County Country Christmas.

Santa Claus arrives on the Square in Downtown Woodbury at 5 p.m. on Friday the 18th. Enjoy refreshments inside the County Executive’s Office and free buggy rides around the courthouse provided by the Middle Tennessee Mule Skinners Association and compliments of County Executive Mike Gannon.

Pictures with Santa will be taken at the Cannon Courier office on Water St. from 5:30 to 8 p.m. (picture packages are only$10) and, while there, persons can register for a bag of toys and enjoy refreshments, provided by the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce.

Santa returns on Saturday the 19th at 12 Noon for the business basket drawing and to lead the Push, Pull, Pedal and Pups Children’s Parade around the Square. Children 12 years and younger are encouraged to wear their Christmas attire and bring the family pup (on a lease). Pup owners can register for a puppy surprise, sponsored by Angela Tate Mullinax, award-winning pet groomer.

A drawing for a big gift basket full of prizes from participating merchants will be held at Noon Saturday. To register for the drawing, visit one of the participating merchants and fill out one of the coupons.

Christmas music and DJ services, sponsored by the Town of Woodbury, will be provided by 60HZ Productions.

Before you shop the big city malls, take a simple stroll around the Historic Square and visit the merchants with their decked halls, goodies galore, door prizes and special deals.
