The American Legion Post 279 in Woodbury is selling flags and
accessories. The monies raised from the sale of these flags goes 100% back to our Community, our Youth and our Veterans, in Cannon County. This is an on-going project. We have available an assortment of all sizes and all types of flags - United States Flags, State Flags, Military Service Flags; and all sizes of flag poles.
The United States Flag 3'x 5' nylon is $25 (best price
anywhere). This is our most popular flag. The United States Flag 4"x 6" is .50 each or $5 a dozen for special occasions. The military services/branches flags are $30 each. For that special display. We can get you any State Flag, different size flags and different

Selections from the Caldwell Collection
Now On Display in Cannon Hall
Open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is Free
Dr. Benjamin Caldwell, Jr. and Mrs. Gertrude Caldwell generously donated the collection to the Arts Center of Cannon County in 2005. The Caldwells have collected art for more than forty years. Mrs.Caldwell says about collecting art, "I am attracted to art immediately for some reason, either the color, the form or action...As we began to go places and meet the artists, I came to love the people." The collection includes numerous internationally recognized self taught and outsider artists from the south, including works by Mose Tolliver, Jimmie Lee Sudduth, Bessie Harvey, and Homer Green.

Boating Safety Class
Saturday, May 7: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The class will meet at 110 Alexander Dr. in the Sheriff's Office Training Room. Participants must bring their Social Security Card, pen or pencil and a Type 600 license, which can be purchased before the class. Call Officer Mark Vance for information at 615-203-4688. All persons born after Jan. 1, 1989 must complete a Boating Safety Class to legally operate a vessel on Tennessee Waters.

The new Cannon County Historial Robert Bush will be quest speaker at the 6:30 p.m. meeting. His subject will be "Back to Bradyville." A talented historian and gifted writer, many of Mr. Bush's articles have been featured in the Cannon Courier. The program will begin at 6:30 with snacks and goodies. The presentation will begain at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and everyone is invited.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Youngbloods, at age 70, Lowell Levinger (aka Banana from the Youngbloods) will make a rare appearance in Woodbury, Tennessee on May 14 to kick off Bird Song Studio's 2016 Roots Music Series. Currently on tour in support of his new album, "Get Together: Banana Recalls Youngbloods Classics," Banana will perform his new version of the Youngbloods' 1967 hit "Get Together," as well as his own original tunes while fingerpicking his unique five-string tenor guitar, breaking out a banjo for occasional accompaniment or tickling the ivories for just the right mood. Daisy Day at Camp

Always...Patsy Cline is based on the true story of Patsy Cline's friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger. The play focuses on the fateful evening at Houston's Esquire Ballroom when Seger hears of Cline's death in a plane crash.
