Vintage photos
sought for exhibit
The Cannon County Historical Society and The Arts Center are seeking framed vintage family photos from Cannon County Families. Images need to arrive framed, ready to hang with identifying information. The images will go on display in the Cannon Hall of the Arts Center beginning in April 2015 and will conclude with a closing reception in October 2015. Free Tree Seedlings
The Tennessee Division of Forestry has a limited number of tree seedlings available to the public for free. The species are yellow poplar, redbud and white pine. To reserve your seedlings, call the Forestry Division at 615-765-7373. They can be picked up at the Cannon County Division of Forestry Office at 4766 Hollow Springs Road.

Bird Visual Slide Show
Thursday, April 23
Cannon Senior Center
Come see the Tennessee Birds Visual and Auditive Representation on April 23 at the Cannon Senior Citizens Center.
Presented by Tennessee Wildlife Officer Mark Vance, the presentation features a slide show with 100 or more birds commonly found in the Volunteer State, including their calls.
From 1 to 3 p.m. on April 23, a show will be presented to Senior Citizen Center members. For those who wish to attend that are 60 years old or older, a sign-up sheet will be available at the Senior Center's front desk or email mark.vance@tn.gov.
From 6 to 8 p.m. on April 23 will be a viewing of the show that is open to all ages. Email with the number you plan to attend to mark.vance@tn.gov. Or call 615-203-4688.

Annual Roast

The Adams Memorial Library Annual Roast will be held at the Cannon County High School Cafeteria beginning at 7 p.m. The year Col. James (Jim) Stone will be on the hot seat. The 8th annual "Princess Ball" sponsored by the Woodbury Lion Club will be held at The Senior Citizen Center, ballroom doors open at 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. What to wear? Dressy, semi-formal or princess attire. Advance tickets will cost $25 per couple and $10 for each additional girl that the escort brings. This event is for girls 18 years or younger when accompanied by their father or father figure (grandfather, uncle or brother). Escorts must be 18 years or older. Denny Laine formally with The Moody Blues and Wings was Paul & Linda McCartney's main collaborator and co-founder of the band "Wings", which was one of the most internationally successful bands of the 1970s. Ceramic Exhibit and Sale
The Berger Gallery
Arts Center of Cannon County
Susan DeMay and Donna Rizzo present an exhibit and sale of their ceramics in The Berger Gallery at the Arts Center of Cannon County through April 30. Their works not only incorporate the usual idea of pottery as a functional art form, but also the notion that clay works are expressive art works.
The Berger Gallery is located inside The Arts Center of Cannon County and is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission to the exhibit is free.

A country music jam sessions is set for the first and third Fridays of each month at the Pocahontas Community Center, 1441 Pocahontas Road, Morrison. Musicians sign up at 5:30 and the music starts at 6pm. Open to the public, spectators and dancers are welcome. Admission is free.
