Angels are available at FirstBank, First National Bank, Regions Bank and Dollar General. Please go by and pick up one of the many Angels. Money can also be donated at First Bank. *** Christian Men's Group Food Collection The Christian Men's Group is collecting food for needy families this Christmas season. This group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Cannon Community Church and is comprised of men from across the community from different denominations. We have set a goal to feed 100 families. Without the help of the community this will not be possible. We are asking for donations of food or money. If you want to donate non perishable items you may take them to The Old Feed Store at 310 Water Street or Antiques and More located at 101 North Cannon Street. For monetary donations please make checks payable to Christian Men's Group.
*** Country Music Jam Session Pocahontas Community Center 1st and 3rd Fridays A country music jam sessions is set for the first and third Fridays of each month at the Pocahontas Community Center, 1441 Pocahontas Road, Morrison. Musicians sign up at 5:30 and the music starts at 6pm. Open to the public, spectators and dancers are welcome. Admission is free. for more info call Ray at 615-765-7835 or John 931-588-1229.

*** Lions Club Day Saturday, Dec. 6, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Woodbury Lions Club is gearing up for a great day on Saturday, December the 6th, 2014. Pancake Breakfast With Santa 7-10am. Santa will be at the Lions Club building. Pictures with Santa will be offered by the Lions Club. Christmas Parade 12:00 Noon. Register at the UT Extension office on Lehman St. or call them at 563-2554. No Charge to be in parade., just need your info for DTC TV as the parade is televised. Along with the TV it will also be on WBRY radio. When you regisiter you will find out where you are to meet to lineup for the parade. Due to our Insurance company, NO FOUR WHEELERS in the parade. Santa will be on the Woodbury Lions Club's Float. Tour of Homes 4-7pm. Stop by the Lions Club building to purchase a ticket and get a map of the homes and businesses that have decorated for Christmas and have opened their home for you to visit.
*** Lions ClubTour of Homes Saturday, Dec. 6, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The twentieth annual Lions Club Christmas Tour of Homes is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. Homes and places open for the tour include: Beaverdam, the Houston Home at 107 Houston Lane, Mike and Jeanne Melton's new home at 3274 Hollis Creek Road, and Lynn and Krista Trail's home at 9566 Ivy Bluff Road. Also open for the tour this year will be The Wilderness Christmas Tree Farm, owned and managed by David and Dawn Gray at 186 LaPaloma, just off Auburntown Road; the new Ivy Bluff Methodist Church building at 8597 Ivy Bluff Road, the newly expanded and renovated Adams Memorial Library on College Street in Woodbury, the new Community Wellness Clinic at 89 Mears Drive, Charlie Brandon's cabin featuring country ham and biscuits at 1309 Burt Bergen Road, Rustic Elegance Event Center, 1751 Doolittle Road and Gregg Rogers' Oscar's Speed Shop featuring his collection of fine cars at 210 E. Main Street. Tickets are $7 each and are available from Lion sclub members or may be picked uip Saturday afternoon at the Lions Memorial Building which will be decked out with Carolyn Motley's massive collective of Christmas tabletop displays. Most of the locations will serve light refreshments.
*** Commodity Distribution Thursday, December 11 The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) will hold a commodities distribution for Cannon County, Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Cannon County Community Center located at the Fairgrounds. Everyone must present a valid UCHRA commodity card in order to receive commodities. *** Santa Visits Adams Library Tuesday, Dec. 16 Adams Memorial Library will be hosting Mr. and Mrs. S. Claus for an evening of fun and festivities on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to take out your red crayon and mark your calendars. Refreshments will be served in the Jennings Community Room. All ages are welcome. Bring your cameras for pictures.
