Homes sought for 20th annual Christmas tour Saturday, December 6
Two or three additional homes are needed to complete the list for the 20th annual Woodbury Lions Club Christmas Home Tour. Each year homes in all areas of the county have been open for this popular Christmas season opening event. This year the tour will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 6. Tickets will go on sale soon at $7 with all funds going to the Lions Club charities account.
Anyone interested in placing their home on this year's list or for more information, should contact event chairman Bill SMith at 563-5337 or Sue Patrick at 563-1328 before November 10.

Coats for Cannon needs coats in good repair, all sizes, take clean coats to Sue Patrick's office at 109 Lester St. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8-4 p.m.
Coats will be distributed on Nov. 15 from 9-2 at the Lion's Club Building.
Books Needed for American Legion to donate to Fisher House
American Legion Auxiliary is in need of books to donate to the Fisher House which is a rehabilitation home for our local wounded veterans.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development's mobile Career Coach will be at the Cannon County Library in Woodbury located at 212 College Street on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will be conducted in conjunction with Woodbury Mid-Cumberland Head Start. Multiple companies are hiring for various positions. Career Coach staff will be on-site helping people to create resumes and register with Jobs4TN.gov where there are more than 90,000 jobs available.

Follow enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy.
Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory--or suffer the consequences.

Our first bit of frost has put a damper on the growing season. Before you know it, a killing frost will sweep thru and put an end to our summer favorites. It's not too late to prepare for winter and stock up on some tasty treats for the winter. Make plans to drop by the Market this Saturday for a taste of Cannon County.
We will also have a fresh pot of coffee brewing as well, so drop by and enjoy the season.
For those looking for locally grown farm fresh fruits and vegetables, drop by the Cannon County Farmers Market this Saturday for a great selection of fruits, vegetables and baked good including; decorative gourds, butternut, peppers (Anaheim, bell, banana, Poblano, cayenne, jalapeno, sweet banana), okra, potatoes (sweet, Yukon, red Pontiac, cobblers and Kennebec), squash (zucchini, butternut, patty pan and yellow), sweet corn, tomatoes (red, yellow and green), turnips, watermelons. Irene Hollis has a great selection of homemade fried pies and assortment of jams, jellies and baked goods.
Harold and Thurman will have Tennessee grown apples also available. If you need a few items to decorate this fall, a great start is gourds, decorative flags and door stops found at the Cannon County Farmers Market.
The Cannon County Farmers Market is located in the Farmers Pavilion at the Cannon County Arts Center (1424 John Bragg Hwy, Woodbury, TN 37190) every Saturday beginning at 6 a.m. Our producers are proud to offer locally grown farm fresh produce. Most Saturdays the market is open until noon or until the farm fresh fruits and vegetables have been sold.
