Cannon Arts Dance Studio Celebrates Birthday!

Breath of Balance choreographed by Kaleena DeVar featuring;Caroline Block, Mary Catherine Musick, and Hilary Walker.
Cannon Arts Dance Studio has a lot to celebrate! Last spring the studio opened its doors with a dance camp, guest artists and a wide array of classes.

Since then, the studio has been serving the community offering classes for children as well as adults, culminating in our first formal dance recital, held at the Arts Center of Cannon County on February 6th.

Over fifty dancers, from baby ballerinas, to MTSU students entertained a sold out house. Other events that marked our first year included, Hollywood Nights at the Old Feed Store, and a field trip to the Nashville Ballet's The Nutracker.

To celebrate our first anniversary, the studio will host an open mic night Friday, April 9th at 7 pm. Voice teacher Michael Land will showcase studio vocal students, and CCHS band director Steven Porter will feature local musicians.

In addition, any community member who would like to sing (bring accompaniment as needed), play an instrument (acoustic preferred), or recite poetry is invited. Admission is $1 at the door.

Please come celebrate our birthday with us. If you can't attend April 9th, keep in mind we have a full compliment of classes. Students enrolling now will be allowed to participate in our summer showcase.

As a birthday gift to the community, registration for new dancers will be waived through April 9th. The staff at Cannon Arts Dance wishes to thank the community for its participation and looks forward to another wonderful year of continued support.
